PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p><p>This policy is developed to raise awareness about &#8220;Domestic Violence\u201d among the\u00a0employees of Cimsa \u00c7imento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.\u015e. and Afyon \u00c7imento T.A.$ and to\u00a0provide an equal and safe work environment showing zero tolerance towards all kinds\u00a0of violence where those employees subjected to domestic violence can talk safely and\u00a0in confidence and receive support and help.<\/p><p>In order to support women&#8217;s participation in the economy, \u00c7imsa has signed the\u00a0Women Empowerment Principles issued by United Nations Global Compact in 2015.\u00a0As a company that has signed Women empowerment Principles, \u00c7imsa is contributing\u00a0to the increase in the awareness of social gender equality in the cement sector which\u00a0has a small number of women employees. In 2018 by becoming a member of the\u00a0Yan\u0131ndayiz Derne\u011fi (We Are There for You Association), it has added another one to\u00a0its efforts for Social Gender Equality.<\/p><p><strong>B. SCOPE<\/strong><\/p><p>This policy covers the employees of \u00c7imsa \u00c7imento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. and Afyon\u00a0\u00c7imento T.A.\u00a7. (hereafter referred to as \u00c7imsa).<\/p><p><strong>C. RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong><\/p><p>The responsibility of the update of the rules and principles in this policy according to\u00a0needs and obtaining relevant approvals rests with Human Resources. The vice\u00a0president of Human Resources is authorized for the approval and revision of the\u00a0policy.<\/p><p><strong>D. DEFINITIONS<\/strong><\/p><p>Violence : All types of physical, sexual, psychological, verbal or\u00a0economic actions and behaviors that occur in society, in public, in cyber-environments\u00a0(control, threat, and stalking that are mostly performed through e-mails, text\u00a0messages, phone messages, etc.) or in private, that include actions leading to or with\u00a0the potential to lead physical, sexual, psychological or economic harm and suffering to\u00a0the person, and threats, oppression or arbitrary restriction of personal freedom related\u00a0thereto.<\/p><p>Domestic Violence : means all kinds of physical, sexual, psychological,\u00a0economic and cyber violence In a house or household or among other persons who\u00a0are regarded as members of the house. Domestic violence Is the violence between\u00a0persons in close relation with one another. The violence in question can be between\u00a0persons in close relation such as; the members of a house, divorced or separated\u00a0couples, married or unmarried couples living together or engaged couples. Living in\u00a0the same house is not essential for domestic violence.<\/p><p>Victim : is the person subjected to violent behavior in close\u00a0relationships.<\/p><p>Perpetrator : Is the person who exerts violent behavior in close\u00a0relationships.<\/p><p>Physical Violence : is acts of violence that cause bodily harm to the victim.<\/p><p>Violent acts such as shoving, raising a hand as if to hit, slapping or kicking, threatening\u00a0or assaulting with sharp\/piercing objects, torture, causing the victim to live in\u00a0unsanitary conditions, and preventing victim&#8217;s access to medical services are all\u00a0considered physical violence. One of the most common forms of physical violence is\u00a0women suffering from violence perpetrated by their current, separated or divorced\u00a0husband, or their relatives. Since physical violence may not always leave visual\u00a0evidence or cause apparent injury, it may take time to recognize.<\/p><p>Psychologlcal Violence : Ali types of violent behavior or attitudes which exert\u00a0emotional pressure on the individual and cause psychological harm are considered\u00a0physical violence. Shouting, profanity, threats, insults, belittling, controlling an\u00a0Individual&#8217;s relationships or appearance based on claims of jealousy, or prohibiting an\u00a0individual from leaving the house or developing themselves are behaviors included in\u00a0the psychological violence acts.<\/p><p>Sexual Violence : Sexual violence is forcing an individual to sexual\u00a0intercourse in times, places or ways that the individual does not consent to, even If the\u00a0parties are married. Messages or actions of a sexual or disturbing nature conveyed\u00a0verbally, in writing or by electronic means (telephone, internet or letters, etc.) are\u00a0considered sexual violence.<\/p><p>Economic Violence : is acts of the perpetrator that systematically restrict or\u00a0oppress the victim regarding their economic decisions and actions. Controlling or\u00a0taking away the income of the victim, harming or taking possession of the belongings\u00a0or properties of the victim are types of economic violence.<\/p><p>Cyber Violence : is the acts of controlling, threatening and tracking mostly via e-mail, text messages, telephone messages, etc.<\/p><p><strong>E. GENERAL PRINCIPLES<\/strong><\/p><p>As it processes the issues of performance and security of the victim, \u00c7imsa endeavors\u00a0to consider all aspects of the matter and evaluates all reasonable alteratives in order\u00a0to help.<\/p><p>\u00c7imsa does not discriminate against victims of domestic violence in terms of\u00a0employment, recruitment or other clauses and conditions or employee privileges.\u00a0In cases of support requests for domestic violence, \u00c7imsa offers its employees\u00a0counseling and support from Non-Govemmental Organizations. In all support requests\u00a0for domestic violence, while the rights of the victimized employee are protected, the\u00a0relevant procedure Is carried out by respecting the confidentiality of both the victim and\u00a0the employees under risk. The information given is by no means disclosed to third\u00a0parties. Only when necessary for the security of the victim or the employer, with the\u00a0permission of the employee, information can be given to Human Resources and\/or\u00a0relevant official institutions.<\/p><p>An employee requesting support provided by \u00c7imsa due to their victimization is not\u00a0required to prove their victimization; their statement suffices.
